Bimo Scene

Dalaowa Bimo Scene (traditional fine arts) is traditional fine art that is popular among Sani people in Shilin Yi Autonomous County in Kunming, similar to Han people's "heaven and earth”. Bimo Scene was circulated in all the Sani areas of Yi people in Shilin Yi Autonomous County. Later, it was gradually lost, only existing in Dalaowa and Yuehu Village of Beidacun Township, and Xiaobuyi Village of Xijiekou Township.

Bimo Scene: its specification is 80cm × 62cm. In this picture, there are two rows with 6 people in each, totaling 12 people who hold rice bowl in hand and chopsticks in the right hand, looking like preparation for having a meal. The top one among these people is an ancient Yi arch-Bimo whose title is called Muzibimubo in Yi language, meaning the greatest god Bimo. The second is Gaozebiersi who is ancient god on ground. The rest ten are the gods of luck in charge of birth, agriculture and animal husbandry, and land, etc., namely Dragon Gods.
